About	Katie died peacefully after a long illness surrounded by her family. She was born in Haverhill, Mass. and was the daughter of Patrick Meredith of Jacksonville, Florida and the late Martha J. Ryan. She had four siblings: Michael P. Meredith, of Jacksonville, Florida, Luke R. (Clarissa) Meredith of Ankeny, Iowa, Emily (Jonathan) West, of Jacksonville, Florida, who she was very close to, and Eric Meredith, also of Jacksonville. Katie also leaves her son, Brent Lafond of Manchester, New Hampshire. She was predeceased by her daughter Emily Lafond, who died young in 1989. Katie graduated from Methuen High School in 1988. While in high school Katie was the co-captain of the Rangers cheerleading squad. She went on to become a licensed anesthetist. Katie also worked in the service industry. She had several aunts and uncles. Katie was predeceased by her aunt and uncle Sheila (Ryan) and Edward Hatch. She was also the niece of Ann Ryan, of Clinton, Maine, Chuck and Josie Meredith of Butler, Pennsylvania, Sandy (deceased) and Bill Davis of Oxon Hill, Maryland, Dorothy Meredith of Apollo, Pennsylvania. Katie had four nieces and nephews, along with several cousins, including the late Ernie Stein (1975-1999). She was the granddaughter of the late Walter and Adele (Patterson) Ryan. Also, James and Esther Meredith. Katie was a kind and thoughtful person. She thought the world of her family and friends and was well liked by her peers. Katie was a protective and proud big sister to her siblings. She loved her son dearly.
