On Wednesday evening, November 9, 2011, Enterprise Bank held its third “Celebration of Excellence” awards ceremony at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. A crowd of 1,800 business and community leaders joined in the celebration when 10 business leaders, non-profits, entrepreneurs and educators were honored for their exemplary service to the bank’s region. An independent (non-employee) Judges’ panel worked throughout the fall to evaluate over 150 applications, and then selected finalists in five categories. All finalists attended the ceremonies. All award winners were presented with a privately-commissioned sculpture designed by renowned artist Mico Kaufman. Mico Kaufman has designed inaugural medals for Presidents Gerald R. Ford, Ronald W. Reagan and George H.W. Bush.
“The Celebration of Excellence,” a well- recognized signature event in the Merrimack Valley, North Central Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire, showcases those that have truly made a difference in our communities. According to Enterprise CEO Jack Clancy, “Enterprise Bank is extremely proud to honor the doers and the dreamers who make our region such a very special place to live and work. On November 9, we gathered to celebrate the entrepreneurial and community spirit of those who give back in deep and significant ways – powerful forces that have far reaching effects on the wellbeing of our lives and our communities. Together, we all celebrated the passion, vision, commitment, fortitude and sense of purpose that inspire individuals to create successful businesses, jobs, opportunities and strong vibrant communities.”
As each name was called by the judges, a representative was invited to accept the award and make a few brief comments on behalf of his/her company or non-profit agency.
Frank H. Cann, Jr. was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year, along with Richard F. Hadley, Jr., of EnviroTek USA, Inc.
