| About Me | "We have every reason to be optimistic in this world. You can't, you don't, build out of pessimism or cynicism. You look with optimism, work with faith, and things happen.Things will work out. Keep trying. Be believing.Be happy. Don't get discouraged" I lived until I was 18 in a small cabin on 21 acres in Rome, Maine (population abt. 700). My parents and all my family for last few centuries lived in the Boston Massachusetts. area (Lynn, Salem, Peabody, Saugus, etc.) so I'm the first "MainAH" in the family. My Dad was a Marine in the Vietnam War. My mom was a teacher. She died in 1996 when I was 8. They were both converts and we were sealed as an eternal family in the Washington D.C.Temple when I was 6. Since then my dad and I have grown close and I realize why family is the most important thing to me. We've traveled from Maine to Florida, Missouri, Louisiana,Hawaii and many other places every year all to see family and explore our great country along the way. I have three older brothers (from dad's first marriage), all in Missouri near their mom. I've got 11 and counting Nieces and Nephews. In addition to the Maine house I own a home in Missouri to be close to them to family and live there when I'm not at school. New Home: Holliday Missouri. Pop. abt 132 Due to one of my brothers fluency in both Japanese and Mandarin Chinese, he was able to establish a thriving Pearl and Jade jewelry buissiness. Visit http://www.nationalpearl.com/ I have my own offshoot business selling the same merchandise at an even lower price, (typically 50-60% less than traditional jewelry stores) since I have no overhead like website management, I offer many friend discounts (HINT, HINT ;) contact me if interested. I started attending Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2006. While there among friends I acquired the nickname Big Papa. Partly from the biggie smalls song, but mostly because I was called to be the "dad" of our FHE (family home evening) group there. Also I was pretty big, fat actually. In the three years since HS graduation I went from 278 lbs to 175 lbs. Big Papa aint so Big anymore. :) From Feb 2007-Mar 2009 I served a Mission for the LDS church in the Minneapolis Minnesota Mission (in the West St. Paul, East Bloomington, Fairmont, Aitkin, Farmington, and Cedar Lake [Downtown/North Minneapolis] areas). Even though we sacrifice 2 years and pay for it all ourselves, it was definitely the best thing I've done with my life thus far. Back at BYU-I, I'm continuing my history major to one day become a university professor (and archeologist?), a dream of mine since I was 6. Weird dream for a little kid but I always loved to play in the dirt. Bottom line though, I'd work anywhere that would enable me to support the large family I want to have someday. My basic life plan: Get done with school at BYU-I as soon as possible, Love my new bride Elizabeth Williams forever :), have lots of kids, serve in the church in whatever I'm called to do, be successful in everything. Life is good, and it's all thanks to God and the blessings that come from following his commandments. I'm not perfect in the least, but I work hard at it every day and through the atonement of Christ I'll get there. MY two passions: St...(read more) |
