I joined the Regular Army on my 21st birthday. I did basic & AIT at Fort Knox, KY. Then it was on to Fort Stewart, GA. I had some very good time there. Next I was sent to Fulda, West Germany for a short tour (3 years). I was an NCO and got the shaft. Then it was on to Fort Hood, TX where I did get that short tour (10 months). I rotated back to Aschaffenburg, West Germany and spent another short tour as an NCO (4 years). I then went back to Fort Stewart, GA and rotated out on 30 July 1990. Just 8 days before my unit was sent to Desert Storm.

I enlisted in 1994 as a dental technician. In 1998 I was accepted into the Physician Assistant program, graduating in 2001. I've deployed twice to date, and am currently assigned to the Air Force Academy Family Practice Clinic.

I enlisted as a Dental Technician in 1994 with plans to become a medical provider. I completed a 5 year assignment at Patrick Air Force Base in June 2008, and soon after arriving in Colorado Springs and the birth of our daughter Violet, was deployed to Afghanistan. I have been here since December 09 and will be returning to Colorado Springs in a few weeks.

Traveled extensively - especially in Central America and the Middle Eastern countries. The frosting on the cake for me was serving under General H. Norman Schwarzkopf before, during, and after the first Gulf War, "Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm". He was a great leader.

Tours have included east and west coast and a few points in between; Asia, Europe, South America and the Middle East. And, yes, I would do it all over again. I am now retired near Austin, Texas.
