On April 3, 1978 Steve was diagnosed with Cancer/Lymphoma. He passed on May 5, 1978, he was 28 years young. He was survived my his wife (Beth Whitehead '72), daughter Kris ('93), she was 2yrs. 10mo. old and is now 39 with 3 daughters, Luke ('96), was 7 mo. and is now 36 with 2 daughters and 1 son), his parents Lloyd and Elois Bernardy, brother Ken Bernardy, and sister Judy (Bernardy) Crnich.
He is greatly missed and loved by his family and many friends he made in his short life.
