SDMA Seeking Public Input For New Mascot and Logo

The School District of the Menomonie Area is seeking public input for a new mascot and logo. The Menomonie Indian logo has long held strong connections to the school and community. In moving forward we hope everyone associated with our district will embrace the opportunity to celebrate school spirit and pride in the retirement of the Indian logo and selection of a new mascot and logo.

The mascot selection committee is comprised of alumni, community members, administration, and students. They will be involved in planning for the selection process, making final recommendations to the board and community, overseeing the voting process, and planning for the fall announcement of the winning mascot idea.
We are seeking ideas from all community members, alumni, students, and staff. Any person wishing to submit one or more ideas for a nickname/mascot is asked to fill in the online form below and submit by 11:59PM August 3, 2011. All submissions must be in accordance with state law.

The public may also mail handwritten or printed copies to: Patty Woodford, School District of Menomonie, 215 Pine Ave NE, Menomonie, WI 54751.
Beginning August 5, 2011, community members, alumni, students, and staff will be invited to vote for the top three ideas. A second round of voting for the new nickname/mascot will take place beginning August 23, 2011.
