Graduation Year Class of 1963
Date of Passing Mar 12, 2009
About Phyllis Carol (Snow) Rauchnot, age 63, illustrated great love, joy and strength throughout her life before she entered eternal life on March 12, 2009, in Sioux City, Iowa.

Phyllis was born June 5, 1945, in Menomonie, to Philip and Meta (Clappsaddle) Snow. She grew up there and worked on the family farm while excelling in school, sports and musical activities and graduating from Menomonie High School in 1963. She married Jack Karns and had a daughter, Shani Johnson. She later married Jack Rauchnot of Hudson, and had a daughter Gia Emory. The family moved to Siouxland in 1976 where she raised her daughters. Eventually, she moved back to the Menomonie area until 2008 when she decided to buy a second home in Sioux City so she could share her time with her two daughters and grandchildren.

Phyllis' elegant demeanor and contagious personality touched the lives of many. She was gifted at making everyone feel special and found humor in just about everything. Her greatest joys were her love for Jesus Christ, her daughters, grandchildren, Jack and Grace, and her friends. She had many.

Survivors include her two daughters: Shani and Michael Johnson of Chippewa Falls, and Gia and Ron Emory of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Jack and Grace; sister Grace Fostmeier of Destin, Fla.; brother Carl and Sue Snow of Menomonie; mother-in-law Agnes Rauchnot of Hudson; and friend Jack Karns of Brooklyn, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Calora Lokken; and spouse Jack Rauchnot.

Memorial services will be held Monday, March 16, at 7 p.m., at the Heartland Community Baptist Church in Sioux City, and a second Memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 19, at 11 a.m., at the Chippewa Valley Bible Church in Chippewa Falls. Pastor Gene Stockton of Heartland Baptist will officiate at both services.
