About Thomas "Tom" L. Buckley, age 71 a lifelong resident of the Menomonie area, died Friday, June 14, 2013, at The American Lutheran Home in Menomonie.

He was born on Aug. 25, 1941 in Menomonie, to Leonard and Lillian (Draeger) Buckley. Tom grew up in the Menomonie area, living most of his life on "the farm" just off County Road J in Sherman Township.

He was a 1959 graduate of Menomonie High School and attended UW-Stout. On May 4, 1968, he married Sybil Carey and they had two children, Raquel and Traylen.

Tom was a dairy farmer most all his life. He worked for short stints for Smith Implement and Foremost Dairy. At a young age, Tom became an avid outdoorsman hunting raccoon and fox with his many hound dogs. His passion for hunting left many memories and stories like his adventures in Colorado and Canada chasing the elusive Caribou and Elk.

Tom had lots of fun smashing up cars in demolition derbies. He also collected antique cars and attended many parades; he was a long standing member of Red Cedar Antique Auto Club.

In the past, he loved to snowmobile. In more recent years, he enjoyed playing pool, bingo and was a avid Packer, Brewer and Badger fan. Often Tom could be found "picking" at swap meets and auctions for collectibles.

In recent years, he cherished the time he and his neighbor, Todd Kolek, spent raising their herd of cattle and making maple syrup. Most of all, Tom loved his family spending time with them.

He is survived by two children, Raquel (Frank) Goodman of Eau Claire and Traylen (Heather) Buckley of Eau Claire; two grandchildren, Noah Norman Goodman and Race Thomas Goodman; one sister, Marcia Oas of Menomonie; one niece, Cheryl (Brandon) Uffelman; one nephew, Jeffery (Toni) Oas; great niece and nephews, Brady and Logan Uffelman and Berklee and D.J. Oas; other relatives and many friends.

Tom was proceeded in death by his parents and one brother in law David "Owl" Oas.
