About Brandon L. Miller
Dunn County News, Sunday, July 22, 2001, A6
Brandon L. Miller, age 25, of Menomonie, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, in Oak Creek as the result of a plane crash.

Brandon was born July 6, 1976, in Menomonie to Lynn and Julie (Millar) Miller. He was raised in Menomonie, attended Little Elk Creek Grade School, and graduated in 1995 from Menomonie High School. Brandon was a member of the Little Elk Creek 4-H Club with woodworking and beef as his projects. He was also a member of the FFA.

Brandon had a lifelong love of flying. He started flying at the age of 16 and received his private pilot's license when he was 17. He graduated cum laude from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Ariz. Following graduation, he was employed as a flight instructor for the university for one and one-half years before returning to Menomonie. He joined Heartland Aviation in Eau Claire this year and made many new friends and enjoyed being part of their team. Besides flying, Brandon enjoyed fishing, golfing and hunting.

Brandon was a loving son and brother and a doting uncle who enjoyed his niece and nephew, and enjoyed being a surrogate uncle to his friends' children. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have Brandon in their lives will miss his sense of humor. Although he will be sadly missed, those who knew him will take comfort in knowing his dreams took flight, not only in metal, but on Eagles' wings.

Brandon is survived by his father and mother, Lynn and Julie Miller of Menomonie; two sisters, Tamara (Brian) Bixby and Tara Miller, both of Menomonie; a niece and a nephew, Lindsey and Sawyer Bixby; his grandparents, Jerry and Phyllis Millar and Edna Miller, all of Menomonie; aunts and uncles; cousins and other relatives; and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Elmer Miller; an uncle, Arvid Miller; an aunt, RuthAnn Millar; his great-grandparents; and a great-aunt, Mary Millar.
