About KATHY SUE STRAND

Kathy Sue Strand, age 39, of Menomonie died Saturday, February. 26, 2005 at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her family.

Kathy was born on January 31, 1966 in Menomonie, WI to William A. and June M. (Gesche) Strand. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1984. Kathy worked at UW – Stout in the Chancellor’s office since 1983.

Kathy liked to play bean bags, volleyball and attend her nephews sporting events. She also liked to bake, had an eye for decorating and had a love for life.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Oscar and Viola Strand; her maternal grandparents, Fred and Bertha Gesche; 5 uncles, Arnold Klatt;, Clarence, Alvin and Carl Gesche; James Strand; 2 aunts, Evelyn Burling and Eunice Strand; a cousin, Steven Strand

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Menomonie with the Rev. Brett Voigt officiating. Burial in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Menomonie. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Tues. at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and from 10:00 AM until time of service Wed. at the church.

The family prefers memorials to UW – Stout Foundation.
