Hope & Charity Drummond
Class of 1994
October 1974 the twins were born in with Osteogenesis Imperfect (brittle bones). The Dr. told their parents to try for other children, their parents refused to give up on the twin. Charity has had 20 surgeries and over 100 fractures. Hope has had 17 and over 100 fractures. Knowing the pain and struggle, both sisters achieved and advanced through the years. Hope and Charity are the middle child of four brothers and sisters.
In 2002, these 3 foot tall women began working as an AmeriCorps Member for Coalition for Citizens with Disabilities and volunteer trainer for The Arc. As an AmeriCorps member and trainer, they gained experience in advocating for citizens with disabilities, partake in several speaking engagements, help conduct various workshops, and assist in training other advocates in self-determination. May 2000, they graduated from Belhaven College with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Business. While continuing to volunteer with The Arc, Charity was hired as a receptionist for Living Independence for Everyone. Hope was hired as a secretary for Mississippi House of Reprehensive. On September 2004, Charity was hired at The Arc and became the Project Coordinator of, a self-advocacy, leadership skill project, My Voice My Choice, which is sponsored by the Council on Developmental Disabilities. In 2005 after the death of her father, she and her sister became the pastors of their father church (Sinai World Wide Outreach Mission). Within that same year she became The manger of a gospel rap group called 'C4-'. Hope became the manager of a Praise Dance Team called "New Breed" Both groups has traveled and performed at various church events. On Dec 2007 they left their apartment and moved into their own houses. on May 2008 both ladies received their Masters Degree (GPA 3.95) in Christian Counseling and Theology. They are continuing in College to gain their Doctor's Degree. Even though they have spoken at many conferences, retreats, workshops, churches, school and colleges, In that same following year they decided to peruse their dream as a Independent Professional Motivational Speaker. They are now the CEO of their Enterprise ThePowerWithin.
