About	NEWPORT NEWS - On Monday morning, Aug. 9, 2010, Vernon Marshall III died unexpectedly at the age of 41 years. Born in San Diego, Calif., on Jan. 20,1969, he lived most of his life in Newport News. He graduated from Menchville High School in 1988, and was a machinist at Action Tool Service in Hampton. He was a former member of the Providence Mennonite church congregation in Newport News. Vern is survived by his parents, Linda and Vernon Marshall II; his brother, Jonathan Marshall and wife, Wendy; former wife, Rachel Marshall and their daughter, Hannah; wife, Christina Marshall and their daughter, Isabella; and stepdaughter, Victoria King. He had a keen wit and enjoyed metal working, blacksmithing, foundry work and casting, robotics, electronics, flying, skiing, old Volkswagens, anything off-road, RC anything, early computers, vintage arcade games, paper models, and more. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at Providence Mennonite Church, 13101 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23602. Memorials may be made to Providence Mennonite Church.
