Oct 21, 1946 - June 5, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Dr. Charles A. Bryant, of Oklahoma City, passed away June 5, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Keener Bryant, of the home; and his sister, Cynthia Bryant Ensign, of Houston, Texas. Dr. Bryant was born in Dallas, Texas, on October 21, 1946. He spent most of his young life in Houston; went on to Austin College in Sherman, Texas; and Southwest Medical School in Dallas. He then moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he finished his residency and opened his practice in pediatrics. He met his wife, Debbi, in Tucson, and they were married in 1981. In 1986, he left his practice to do administrative medicine at Tucson Medical Center. He and his wife moved to Oklahoma City in 1996, where he joined Integris Baptist Hospital as an administrator. He was an advocate of patient care and welfare and became very interested in disease management and diabetes. In 2007, he started Evident Health Clinic and began screening patients for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. He truly believed in the importance of diagnosing the disease early on and treating patients appropriately to avoid later complications. He loved his patients and thoroughly enjoyed being in practice again. He served on the boards of the James L. Hall Jr. Center for Mind, Body and Spirit, the Latino Community Development Agency, and the Hough Ear Institute. A small Celebration of Life service will be held June 28, 2014, for close friends and family. Family requests any donations be sent to the Oklahoma Kidney Foundation.
