As many of you know, Janet Renee Hicks Hughes was part of the large Hicks family that graduated either from Melrose or Hamilton. Renee, as we affectionately called her, was my sister---the sister of Jacqueline Hicks Grazette'77, Beverly Hicks Reynolds, class of 74, Floyd Hicks'80 and Marvin Hicks, '84. She was also sister to Christina Hicks Simmons, who died in 2015.

Renee was known for her beautiful smile, working at the IRS, her son Bryton and overcoming her handicap of nerve deafness.

We miss her every single day of our lives, but are extremely grateful for the huge turnout from her classmates and friends from Melrose and the Orange Mound Community.
