When I read the phrases selected for me, the second sentence seemed like the sound of thud to me. Here's the quote in our 1966 yearbook: I slept and dreamed that life was joy. I woke and saw that life was duty. [Full stop.] Recently, I found the full text of this quotation and with a slightly different translation: I slept and dreamed that life was joy. I woke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold service was joy. --Rabindranath Tagore.
