Retired after 31 years of service in 2015. Served as an Aviation Anti-submarine Warfare Officer in the Navy P3 aircraft and as a Counter Terrorism Officer at the Defense Intelligence Agency stationed at the Pentagon.

I retired from the Navy in July 2012 after 34 years of commissioned service. Following graduation from the Naval Academy in 1978, I served in submarines for 13 years then transitioned to ship repair. I served as the commander of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, was commander of Regional Maintenance Centers and the Fleet Maintenance Officer for the Atlantic Fleet. My final job was as the Vice Commander of the Naval Sea Systems Command. My final rank was Rear Admiral Upper Half. Decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit (5 awards), Meritorious Service Medal (3), Navy Commendation (2) and Navy Achievement (4).

Received Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation. Finished enlistment at the rank of Corporal.
