| About Me | After graduating college with an associates degree in data processing, I went to work full time at First National Bank of Cortland where I continued to go to obtain college credits and degrees. I lack 18 cr hrs from obtaining my accounting assoc. degree and I obtain three banking certificates. Then in January of 2004 I left then bank. Due to a merger in 1999, my job was going to either go north to Syracuse or Oneida. I was not willing to travel to Syracuse for 50 cents an hour more in pay and I was definately not relocating to Oneida. I took a position as the Treasurer for the Village of McGraw. I came in after a girl who had stolen $20,000. It was a night mare and not the best decision I ever made. I am way too honest and straight forward for a polical job. I found out first hand just how crooked you have to be to survive that world. I left the Village in Nov of 2005 (22 months later), I was unemployed for 10 months. In August 2006 I took a position at Cortland Pump and Equipment doing accounting. This was not for me, I never saw anyone and I was used to working with and around the public. So I applied for the position I currently have. I thought why not, what have I got tto loose? I emailed my resume on Thursday, the called on Friday to set up an interview for Monday. I interviewed with ten people and on Tuesday I was offered the position of Fulltime Church/Financial Secretary at the United Presbyterian Church in Cortland. I took it, started May of 2007 and I absolutely LOVE my job and the folks I work with and for. I found my niche in life. I got married May of 1993 at the ripe old age of 29 (turned 30 in August) to a ypoung man from Homer who is three years older than I. We have no children of the two legged kind. However, we have two dogs. A 9 year old chocolate lab and a three year old golden retriever. They are spoiled rotten and really are our children. I have two nephews on my side and three nieces and two nephews on my husbands side. We are involved in their lives as much as possible. I have served on many boards, such as the American Cancer Society, Cortland County Hospice Board, the Village of McGraw Planning Board, the Village of McGraw Board of Trustees. I have been the lay Leader at my church as well as working on various committees there and the food pantry. I was on the Brokway Day committee for 6 years. I am on the Planning Committee for the Cortland County Relay for Life Cancer walk/run. I have worked many years for a gentleman from vermont at the ...(read more) |
