LOOKING OUT FOR AND TEACHING US TO SHARE SUPPORT, & UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER AND ABOUT SHARING THE ROAD. DONT STEREOTYPE , Stop the damn texting , CHECK LICENSES , PAY ATTN MMOT jointly works with several large entities Now to better serve, assist, and provide better resources that are listed on our site As founder I need to be in a division now suited for me we have become more of a partner and advocates for change therefor , others are the ones who make the difference not me, many big org need to be given attn We will need you to step in and carry on even if we're leading anyone in need our compilation is wonderful and full of resources. Cathy Thomas and I among others are focusing on 2Stepamendment.com a law that needs to be be made effective on a federal level to mandate all rental agencies validate a drivers license . You show it they don't check it never assume. I am also on a journey to provide more awareness and safety for our Soldiers to know about the importance of updated ppwk provided to them and the availability on their base of doing a will. Many resources are there , but younger people, or misunderstandings happen and their base has a non profit volunteer team that needs our help getting this out by helping to work together with the base during their services They can do ppwk it is not mandated but it is there and it is critical to push this need and classes and thanks to JAG it is available for free. Everyone needs this and now the knowledge needs to be out there. Whose on our team to rattle and shake making things happen? Motorcyclists like my son and Soldier as many service members do loved riding. Soldiers and Civilians need us all aware that they are there so that motorcyclists can have a fair share of the road. Share, Stay Aware Validate licenses everywhere !!! Don't assume folks we would like to help the COCI , groups, riders in general Were in need of a site handler and leader for this area - im right behind you but if someone knows better then they need the back up and were ready to help. We bought Motorcyclesafetyandawareness.com and 2StepAmendment.com as sites that lead you to MMOT . You can see how I lost my son and understand more that it affects us all Honestly its been a year . ILL GO TO COURT SOON TO PROSECUTE HIS KILLER. WE HAVE FOUND SO MANY PRIORS AND A HISTORY THAT IT MAKES YOU SO ANGRY THIS HAS BEEN PUSHED ASIDE HIS LFE IS WORTH MORE THAN WHAT IS COMING. AGAIN IF THE LICENSE HAD BEEN RAN BY THE RENTAL CAR AGENCY MY SON WOULD BE ALIVE It is with the deepest sadness that I now know first hand real pain and what it really means to sacrifice. I cant move on. You have your baby taken. You have military , Civilian cops courts , attorneys, and more. I am now a GOLD STAR mother. I still cant fathom this. My son , my soldier inspired and has helped many people meet, we started groups, and helped a community at large band together when there was not one being active in these areas for our service members. There is one now. Adam my baby boy is the reason for many things not me. He made me and is the inspiration and reason for who i I am. I never knew a thing when I was trying to do services before and none of us do until it happens. I tried with best intentions I'm not perfect and I learned again from my son it's much worse than I ever imagined. MMOT will be branching out its focus as a resource and accepting new roles by adding focus to new areas. MMOT will be a resource site and pathway . Keeping Operation Green Santa is our passion and a stand alone organization now at operationgreensanta.com and it now needs to stay strong. It is in his honor that we must hold our heads high and be proud of all Adam brought to us. Gold and Silver Stars are our lives and first hand knowledge now. Blue Star families are always just as important. This time the bigger solutions out here are what we aim to give back to you. Learning from experience there are those organizations you need. I am focusing in all areas , but ill be lending myself to developing laws needed people and a project here in Austin/Wilco that has been long over due. It is time to bridge the gap. In the 2STEP Amendemant we need to educate and help carry out wishes of our service members, to understand the importance of wills and freq. ppwk updates, and motorcycle advanced classes, gear, and courses within our military bases. Our military provides resources we just need to help with volunteering more hands to help. In addition motorists need educated about our motorcyclists who share the road with us and more material in the drivers handbooks, etc to recognize and train our brains that one headlight isnt overlooked because a large piece of steel is what we seek while operating a motor vehicle. My son now has many unfinished things, wishes, and desires, and we fully intend to carry on with dignity and respect as he was the reason for it all and gave all for you and me! The 2Stepamendment.com is a campaign to make a law stating that all rental agencies validate a drivers license. As of now they view it and we assumed they did something but they don't and its killed to many so far. Motorcyclesafetyandawareness.com needs to be introduced and education needs to be out there for motorists about sharing the road and recognition. I have my sons obiturary below. Please see it for more and how to become involved. We need many to get behind this and help make a law to save us all. I WAS and I still am a Proud Army mother , unfortunately my life was jolted Feb 1st when my soldier was killed. I am now a Gold Star mother and would give or do anything to have him back. This is my baby boy that kicked my ribs, and I loved him and grew up with him. He almost didnt even make it in the world and now he has been killed by a wreckless driver DAYS BEFORE HIS DEPLOYMENT while on his motorcycle due to deployment readiness. It's unfair. I am a proud Texas State mother TO A WONDERFUL DAUGHTER. She is on the deans list, joined a sorority, and works in sports broadcasting as the youngest female yet at her school. I am a mother to a wonderful 14 year old who is active in volleyball and was very close to her big brother. She implemented care package collections in schools and won volunteer of the year. I also have a four year old, too. He is smart, funny, and loves his Bubba T's who have stepped in on Adams behalf. Jake, Chris, and Trey are our family and a brother to my sons siblings. This hasn't been easy on them either. Siblings suffer and often are forgotten. I am searching for attorneys politicians and people in the area, to implement our #TEAM2Step for the 2STEP AMENDMENT we have written the software making it a solution to validate a drivers license on a federal level at rental agencies. There are now 2 Amendments needed and lobbying for them will need people to get loud. I was also Recently diagnosed with Cancer and my son Adam came home twice and took care of me in the hospital . At the last minute I will never forget I wanted him immediately so I flew him in for Christmas it was at the last minute. I knew and felt my head spinning and tugging at me to be with my son. I am not ONLINE much right now so texting me is best. However leave a message on my FB email area for a message Our company and business is built with a team of family , caring individuals, and loyalty. We are Fitness equipment providers with Fitness In Motion or Fitness HQ if you have equip needs this is our wonderful family and I'm lucky to have them . My most important role and proudest is being his mother. I am humbled , a mentor, knowledgeable in a lot of areas, a business owner , writer , lobbyist, and survivor with cancer . Most of all I'm proud of my son and of course children. My family and my kids are my priority and my life. I had to learn the hard way to STOP. With every minute that passes never take it for granted. Yesterday is gone, and when tomorrow isn't here its gone its today that matters and should be focused on and treasured. You can make a difference by knowing how to stop and live life within your day don't rush, put off, or get caught up in noise. Do more than just try to get through something. Honestly every day is a last day . You wont ever get today back at the same age, place, or circumstance. Please never assume I've said or done anything there's no time for hose games I encourage you to ask questions. I am passionate about my causes and speak from the heart. I survived many things and grew up without everything. I sort of feel like a test tube. This has taught me all kinds of topics to mentor others. I survived cervical cancer before and now I'll fight this new battle of Cancer and illnesses again. I have survived the worst my son being killed . I grew up with homelessness , hunger, our system, and drug addicted parents as a child I was the adult. I am proud that I made a decision to have and raise my son on my own as a baby. I've had many let downs from others, but I remember not to judge because you never know how hurt , sad, or in need someone could be. You can make a difference or an impact by your choices and doing one simple thing a day. Please choose to be nice, positive, and encourage our community and neighbors. Stop take time It does take a village and going back to the basics. Let's realize were all in it together and we should behave as one. Just ask me don't assume I am grieving or at least trying , but tis is a long process with military and courts etc. I know that I had God as my only father during the way I had to grow up! I question now WHY my son not him . Why? Where are his brothers? MY son would DO ANYTHING & be at my side for his mom. When I say i've been there I have been there in all situations. We can all do our part no matter how small or what our situation is. Don't judge you never know the day they may have had, the struggles, or who they are we have to be there for one another not tear each other down. I believe we need to do as we say and act on our beliefs not just think about it. If someone had stepped up to help my son at his base or even when I was a child it would have made all the difference in the world. I give big and thank God for everything. A friend to me is a true blue whose never far and always there saying "I have got your back". Love all and hate none. GRIEF IS DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE , BUT A FRIEND WHOSE TRUE WILL LET YOU GRIEVE & JUST BE THERE FOR YOU RESPECT A SERVICE MEMBERS PRIVACY AND FAMILY You never know until you have been there The death of your child is never expected and should never happen DONT judge us Character means everything reputation means nothing. A MOTHER WHOSE RAISED A SOLDIER IS THE TOP COMMANDER WE DONT CARE ABOUT THE POLITICS ITS ALSO A SOLDIERS MOTHER WHO RAISED AND TAUGHT THEM THEIR SKILLS. THEREFOR, DONT MESS WITH A MOTHER . Especially a Gold mother LEAVE MOTHERS TO GRIEVE ESPECIALLY ONE WHOSE JUST TRAGICALLY SUDDENLY LOST HER BABY. A SOLDIER IS ALWAYS SOMEONES BABY AND MOM COMES FIRST. HELL HAVE NO FURY LIKE A MOTHER WHO HAS LOST HER CHILD . GOD WILL BE THERE TO GUIDE OUR BABIES AND HELP US GET THROUGH THE CRAZY PHASES. NEVER JUDGE WHAT THIS FEELS LIKE OR AN ACTION DURING THIS GRIEVING TIME. WERE NEW TO IT TOO AND HUMAN NATURE IS TO PROTECT OUR BABIES. MY SON'S STORY - Sergeant Adam "2STEP" Huckstep-La Porte MY SON MY SOLDIER I LOVE YOU MY NINJA Sergeant Adam "2Step" Huckstep-La Porte Sergeant Adam "2Step" Huckstep-La Porte, 23, died tragically the evening of February 1, 2012 when a car made a left turn in front of his oncoming motorcycle in Long County, Georgia. Huckstep-La Porte, an infantryman in the US Army, was assigned to the 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia. His most recent deployment was in October 2009 to Iraq. He was preparing to leave for Afghanistan in the coming months in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as an infantryman/gunner. Adam grew up in the Round Rock School District and attended McNeil High School. He was dedicated to his family, friends and serving his country. Adam's patriotism was evident when he joined the Army in 2008. This patriotism and pride inspired his mother, Tracy La Porte, to found Military Moms of Texas, an organization committed to supporting American troops serving at home and abroad. Adam was an enthusiastic member of the Wingmen Motorcycle Club of Long County, GA, where he was known as "2Step." He made club history by being the youngest member ever invited to join. It should be noted that Sgt Huckstep-La Porte was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Army Overseas Service Ribbon and The Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon. He was recently in the process at Ft. Stewart to be selected as Staff Sergeant. Adam was preceded in death by his great-grandfather Douglas Bush, a WWII Veteran, one of the first to arrive at Normandy. Adam leaves behind his mother Tracy Anne La Porte and his dad Lorne La Porte of Round Rock, Texas. Adam was a loving brother to both of his sisters, Colleen Faith Huckstep-La Porte and Savannah Grace Rhiannon La Porte, and to his little brother Zachary Cash Norman La Porte, the youngest of the siblings. ADAM also leaves behind a son born just after his death. ADAM is also survived by his grandparents Norman, a Vietnam Veteran, and Mary Anne La Porte and John and Ginny Gallo. Funeral services were held at Blessing Funeral Home in Mansfield, Texas. Adam was buried with full military honors and had a local memorial with the place he came home to and called his Brushy Creek Boys. It is even on him BCB the family for the local memorial service was held on Saturday, February 18th, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at St. Phillips Church located at 16321 Great Oaks Drive in Round Rock, Texas. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider making a donation to the Adam Huckstep Memorial Account at any Wells Fargo Bank location. Donations to the memorial account will be used to finalize his estate, carry out his last wishes and to establish the "2Step Amendment" focusing on additional public awareness of sharing the road with motorcycles and establishing protocol of frequent military paperwork updates and mandating wills. "2 Step," my son, my soldier, our hero never forgottenNEVER From my heart I constantly saw a boy for his age lfight out of situations like no others, I now se...(read more)
