Left college to fight in the Vietnam war. He died late in 1964 or early 1965. Reavis was the nicest, kindest young man I have ever known
His name is on the wall in Washington D.C. along with all the men/women who died in that war.
Carolyn Mason '64 said:
I was at the pool one summer day and was feeling a little down. Reavis came over to talk to me, and I felt much better after we spoke. He was a kind, caring person and did not have a 'big head' like so many of the boys who were athletes or good looking and knew it. Reavis spoke to everyone he saw. There was one girl who had serious issues both physical and mental. Reavis was very kind to her and that really impressed me. I find it so sad that he lost his life at such a young age. His parents had both served in WWII, and I believe he had the same patriotic leanings as them. We just lost him so soon, which is very sad. I will always remember him.
