About Me | I live in a paradise, except in summer when June, July, and August temperatures usually rise above 100 degrees. But, then we get the summer storms, and I love to sit on the porch and watch the lightning and wild rain. A bobcat comes to my fountain to drink along with various birds. Last year she had two cubs. This year we saw her with a full belly, but have not seen her or her cubs, yet. My husband is John E. Westmoreland. He is a retired truck driver and big rig mechanic. He loves to motorcycle, dance, and have a good time talking with friends. I like to hike. I can see Mt. Wrightson and Mt. Hopkins from my front porch. It takes about 20 minutes to drive up to Madera Canyon there to go hiking. In Madera Canyon I have seen the Elegant Trogon, a beautiful colorful parrot-like bird. A stream flows there after the winter snows and after the summer rains. At the clubhouse for our home owners' association, we have a pool and hot tub that I frequent. Also, we have gatherings there. Santa Cruz County extends from Arivaca Junction on route 19 that travels south from Tucson to the border at Nogales and east traveling through Patagonia, Sonoita, and Elgin to the back gate of Fort Huachuca. The mountains, deserts, mesquite bo...(read more) |
