About Me	After college,I joined the Peace Corps and served in Ethiopia, 1966-68. I married my wife in Ethiopia. We had two daughters. We split in 1983 but remain friends. We went to grad school,and I got my PhD in History of Science and joined the NSF as a program director of the History and Philosophy of Science Program which I expanded to include Social Sciences of Science and Technology. I worked for one year as a Congressional fellow for Sen. George Mitchell 1982-83. I met my husband, Jim Setta in 1983 and we have been together ever since. We married as soon as it became legal (in Massachusetts). Our daughters and families all attended. We now have 4 grand children. Jim and my careers were in DC but we retired in 1996 first to Hawaii and then to San Francisco where we now live (we also have a small apartment in DC).
