CDR.Raymond G. Burkemper, USN
Class of 1945
Navy, 20+ Years
Fighter pilot during the Korean Conflict; flew combat missions off the USS Valley Forge, 1953; his plane was shot down by enemy fire, but he was rescued by friendlies. Went on to become a heliocopter pilot and commsnded a squadron. Retired with rank of Commander, 1973.

Awarded 3 Meritorious Service medals; 3 AF Commendation medals; 7 Good Conduct medals; 2 National Defense Service medals; Vietnam Service medal; RVN Gallantry Cross; Vietnam Campaign Medal.
