John Edward Horn, 76, of Lynchburg passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021. He was the husband of Gilda McCormick Horn. Born April 5, 1944, in Miami Beach, FL, he was the son of the late Hubie Oliver Horn and the late Virginia Meggison Horn.
John was a retired security guard for Allied Security. He served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by two children, John Oliver (Missy) of Victoria and Samantha Johnson (Cody) of Rustburg; one stepdaughter, Sabrina Goode of Maine; two sisters, Carolyn Schmidt (Tommy) of Rice and Candy Horn of Randolph; seven grandchildren, Josh, Taylor, Harley, Aubrey, J.R., C.D. And Tamara; six great grandchildren, Aurora, Arctic, Lillith, Athena, Gabriel and Rykor; and other loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
