| About Me | Upon graduating from McHi I attended the University of Notre Dame on a full academic scholarship. I graduated Cum Laude in 2005 with a dual degree in English and Graphic Design and a Minor in Marketing. My first book was also published that year, followed by two short poetry collections. Upon graduating from the University of Notre Dame I joined the Texas Department of Transportation as a Public Information Specialist for the San Antonio District, where I oversaw Public Outreach efforts for over $1 billion in infrastructure improvement projects. While living in San Antonio I continued to pursue my passion for both writing and design by freelancing as a contributing Author, Literary Arts Editor and Graphic Designer for publications including GoIungo and Chicano Art Magazine, and non-profit organizations including the Museo Guadalupe Aztlan, the International Museum of Art and Science and Art with a Heart. I married my husband, Bob, in a small ceremony in 2007. In 2008 we moved to Houston, TX, and I was promoted to my current position as a Government and Public Affairs Specialist for the Texas Department of Transportation, Houston District.
