Class of 1998
Marine Corps, 5 Years
Aaron served in the Marine Corps on active duty from July '98 to August '03. He was a microwave raidio technician for a few years at Camp Pendleton, California. Then he became a satellite communications technician, stayed at Camp Pendleton for another year or so then went to Okinawa Japan for his last year. From Okinawa, he was deployed twice to South Korea and once to Thailand.

Dan Galegher
Class of 1983
Navy, 20+ Years
Dan enlisted in the US Navy as a Fire Controlman, one year after graduation from Mayo. Serving on seven different ships, six of which based out of Yokosuka, Japan, he saw several distant and interesting places throughout Asia and Africa during his career. He retired with full honors and benifits after serving 25 years and reaching the highest enlisted Navy rank of Master Chief Petty Officer.

Joined USN Feb 69 (Feb 69- Dec 72). Hospital Corpsman (medic) with MARINES 31/2 of those yrs. Vietnam Nam 1970 3rd Bat/5th Marines 1st Marine Division. As far north in VN as you could get. Got out and attended nursing school, then attended Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences for Nurse Anesthesia (CRNA) training.Jun 80 - Nov 96 USAF as a CRNA, retired after 16 + yrs additional service as a Major. Retired after 39 yrs of Mil/Civilian Anesthesia practice May 2015.

Our Mayo High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done!
