Dean Wright, Jr. Class of 1980 is a labor leader with the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers Union. He is the President & Director of District Lodge 54 (Ohio, West Virginia and Northeastern Indiana). He also is the President of the Ohio State Council of Machinists and Vice President of the Ohio AFL-CIO. His Bio is below.

T. Dean Wright, Jr. began his career with the Machinists Union in 1983 working for Ashland, Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a proud member of Local Lodge 1297 and has held a variety of elected offices in the IAM including Chief Shop Steward, Sergeant of Arms, Local Lodge Vice President, President, District Lodge Vice President, and currently holds the position of President of the Ohio State Council of Machinists (OSCM), Vice President of the North Coast Area Federation of Labor (NCAFL) and Vice President Ohio AFL-CIO In addition, he has also held the positions of Vice President Labor & Employment Relations Association (LERA).

In 1998, Dean was appointed to serve as an Organizer for District Lodge 54 in Cleveland, Ohio. Then in 2002 he was appointed to the position of Business Representative and in 2004 advanced to the position of President & Directing Business Representative.

Elected as President & DBR in 2006, 2010 and 2014, Brother Wright is responsible for overseeing the District Lodge in regard to its eighteen (18) affiliated local lodges, current and retired members (15,000+), eight (8) staff members, two (2) employees, district finances, and its day to day operations in Ohio, West Virginia and Northeastern Indiana.

Dean is married and has four children. He is originally from West Virginia but now is a resident of the Greater Cleveland area.
