Preston Sawyer, Jr., of Lynchburg, VA, died March 30, 2009. He was the president of the Maury class of 1950 their sophomore, junior and senior years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Courtney Ward Sawyer, (October 2, 1974) also a member of the class of 1950 and editor of the Maury News her senior year. Preston attended reunions during the 1990s with his second wife, Martha.
