Richard Kuerbitz Neckermann
Class of 2004
After Graduating from Mattawan went on to get a major Scholarship for Music Performance from WMU for his Bachelors Degree and a Full Ride Scholarship for his Masters Degree in Brass Performance at University. While at BU, he returned to the Tanglewood Institute (Summer home of the Boston Symphony and Boston Pops Orchestras) as a Teachers Assistant and Stage Crew, working with Yo-Yo Ma and James Taylor. Richard met his future wife Janie while in Boston, and returned to Michigan to become the Principal Trumpet and Operations manager of the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra. He also subs for the Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Muskegon Lakeshore Symphony Orchestra. He and wife Janie reside in Kalamazoo
