About	Paul passed away on July 7, 2017 after a valiant 43-year battle with cancer and its long term effects. Paul was a proud member of the Wegmans Real Estate department for 23 years, where he served as Director of Real Estate until his retirement in 2016. During his tenure, Paul was instrumental in helping the company grow from a 44-store chain in the process of beginning its initial expansion into Pennsylvania, to a company that now has more than twice as many stores spanning six states. Of the current 92 Wegmans locations, Paul was responsible for finding 48 of the sites as well as over a dozen additional properties in the developmental pipeline. Paul's dedication, extensive market knowledge and industry contacts played a critical role in the successful expansion of the business. Paul is survived by his parents Walter and Dorothy Gilbert, his wife Deborah (Neffke), daughters Kristin (Matthew) Ray and Katherine Gilbert, grandchildren Gavin, Landon, Allana and Brenna Ray, brother Gary (Kathy) Gilbert and sister Sandra (Barry) Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews.
