| About Me | As a Center Director at Skagit Valley REACH Center. Helping the homeless and people with mental health illnesses. Showing how to reclaim their lives by sharing my story of recovery from both being homelessness,with a mental illness and Chemical dependency addiction. I use many tools and creative talents each day at work: poetry, classes on recovery, personal conversations, recovery research, and extensive social networking. I believe that the mental health system can change to provide recovery for every single person. I think that two of the important problems is science-to-service with medication for peers in the real-world, coping with Chemical Dependency, and Mental health treatment. I believe in the ability to inspire people to make changes in their own lives. RECOVERY does help people decide to take responsibility for important choices that will affect their family, friends, and there future. As a Center Director and Peer Specialist, I tackle both issues in inspiration peers with my story. My thoughts is to Peer Supporter, and encourage self-determination. The best treatment for self individualization. My son ask me what I do at work or friends or family, my response is saving lives everyday!! I love giving back to the community of Skagit County, for they also help me and my family. Because life is all about second chances, I am one of the many to say that.
