| About Me | I went to the University of Kansas where I studied music education. I was a drum major for the Marching Jayhawks for 2 years before I graduated. After my undergrad, I taught high school band at Lawrence Free State High School in Lawrence, KS for five years. I joined an Army Reserve Band in Lawrence, KS then auditioned for a conducting position with the Army and won. In 2011 I returned to the reserves when my son was born. In 2012 I was hired as the Assistant Director of Bands at KU, my alma mater, where I currently work. I will complete 20 years of service in 2022.
