About	Mrs. Marjorie K. “Lady” Walraven was the longtime journalism, history and English teacher at Mary Carroll high school who also sponsored the yearbook and newspaper. She taught high school for more than 35 years. She stayed close to her students long after they graduated, becoming a trusted friend, advisor, and mentor. Mrs. Walraven was married to the late Bill Walraven for 63 years. Bill was a well-known columnist for the Corpus Christi Caller Times.
Events	The time of her death, Mrs. Walraven was living in Dallas near her daughter, Valerie Davis. Her memorial service was held on January 20, 2024, at St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Corpus Christi. More than 100 people, including many former students, were present for the service.
