Andrew J. Toth, Jr. Class of 1943
Navy, 20+ Years Aviation Electrician, First Class (AE-1) served in Korea and Vietnam. He lost his life in Danang on March 2, 1971.

Navy, 20+ Years Retired as a Senior Chief (E-8), qualified in Submarines. Served on 4 different subs including the commissioning crew of a Trident Ohio class SSBN Georgia,SSBN 729. An older SSBN Stonewall Jackson, SSBN 634, and two fast attacks Tunny SSN 682 and Atlanta SSN 712 Stationed at the Trident Repair Facility in Bangor Wa. and tough Basic Submarine School in Groton Ct. Served in both oceans and visited counties all over the world. Wish I could tell every body were we went, but Submarines operations are classified Top Secret.

Navy, 20+ Years SERVIED ONBOARD NUC POWERED SUBMARINES AS A MACHINEST MATE. WORKED ON SHIPS COMPRESSED AIR SYSTEMS, HYDRAULICS, AIR CONDITIONING AND REFREGERATION SYSTEMS. ATMOSPHERE CONTROL EQUIPMENT. WHICH ARE MACHINES THAT REMOVE EXCCES CO/CO2 AND GENERATES O2. RETIRES AS SENIOR CHIEF PETTY OFFICER SERVIED IN DESERT STORM AS WELL AS OTHER SMALL CONFLECTS AROUND THE WORLD. CHOOSEN AS ONE OF SEVEN CHIEF PETTY OFFICERS TO ASSIST IN THE DESIGN, BUILDING AND SET UP OF TRAINING FACILITY FOR NON-NUC TRAINED PERSONEL FOR THE SEAWOLF CLASS SUBMARINE. QUALIFIED AS CHIEF OF THE WATCH, SHIPS DIVING OFFICER AND CONTACT CORDNATOR AT SEA AND DUTY CHIEF IN PORT, ALSO COMPLETED QUALIFICATION FOR CHIEF OF THE BOAT. WAS WAITING FOR INTERVIEW WITH COMMANDER U.S. SUBMARINE FORCE WHEN I WAS HAD AN ACCIDENT WERE I LOST THE SIGHT IN MY RIGHT EYE AND WAS FORCED TO RETIRE.

Navy, 20+ Years JOINED NAVY IN OCT AFTER GRADUATION AFTER BOOT CAMP WERE I VOLINTUREED FOR SUBMARINES, IT WAS THAT OR BE SENT TO AN AIRCRAFT CARRIER. I WENT TO MACHINEST MATE "A" SCHOOL IN GREAT LAKES MI. AFTER COMPLETING "A" SCHOOL I WENT TO THE FLEET FOR SIX MONTHS THEN ON TO ORLANDO FL FOR NUC POWER SCHOOL, AFTER NUC SCHOOL I WAS SENT TO GROTON CN. FOR SUBMARINE SCHOOL. IN THE FALL OF "76" I REPORTED TO THE USS STONEWALL JACKSON (SSBN 634). I QUALIFIED IN SUBMARINES AND COMPLETED SIX PETROLS AND A TWO YEAR OVERHAUL AT PORTSMITH NH. AFTER COMPLETION OF MASTER DIESEL MECH SCHOOL I WENT TO THE REPAIR FACILITY AT BANGO WA.(80-82). IN 83 VOLENTREE FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION ON A TRIDENT SUB. SENT BACK TO GROTON REPORTING ONBOARD PCU (PRE COMMISSIONING UNIT) GORGIA (SSBN 729). COMPLETED EIGHT DEPLOYMENTS ON GORGIA WITH ONE THE FIRST OVER SEAS UPKEEP OF A TRIDENT SUBMARINE. LEFT GORGIA IN 88 FOR THE USS TUNNY (SSN 682) COMPLETED A TWO YEAR OVER HAUL IN BREMERTON WA. AND DEPLOYED FOR OPERATION DURING DESERT STORM. RETURNED TO GROTON IN LATE 92 AS AN INSTRUCTOR AT THE NAVAL SUBMARINE SCHOOL. THERE I WAS SELECTED WITH SEVEN OTHER CHIEFS TO ASSIST IN THE SET UP OF A NEW TRAINING FACILITY FOR NON-NUC PERSONNEL ON BOARD THE NEW SEAWOLF CLASS SUBMARINE. IN 94 I REPORTED TO USS ATLANTA (SSN 712) WERE I MADE THREE OVERSEAS DEPLOYMENTS IN TWO YEARS. IN THE SPRING OF 96 I RETIRED AND RETURNED TO MARTINS FERRY.
Ed Gosney Class of 1981
Army, 5 Years I spent five years in the U.S. Army (1992 - 1997) as a 46Q, Journalist, after attending Defense Information School (DINFOS http://www.dinfos.dma.mil/ ) at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. Previous to that, I attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, SC. I was 29 years old when I enlisted. In 1993, at Fort Benning, GA, I attended Primary Leadership Development Course and was the Honor Graduate,. Shortly after that, I became a non-commissioned officer, all within 18 months of enlisting.
George Lude Class of 1955
Army, 3 Years Enlisted after graduation to take engineer school to further drafting career. Grad from Construction drafting school, upper 30% of class & assigned to US Army Military Police school as sign painter & OJT training aids . Auditioned with MPTC Band & accepted where I served remaining 30 months as tuba player (primary instrument) & drum major. Learned all percussion instruments & some brass where I played 3rd chair/trombone 2 performances with touring Tommy Dorsey orchestra conducted by Warren Covington. WOW original Tommy Dorsey arrangements. Served 3 years .

Army, 2 Years Major, Medical Corps, US Army 1970-1972; Army Chemical Center, Edgewood, Maryland; Director Toxic Exposure Aid; medical support and defense against chemical warfare; chemical munitions sea transport from Okinawa during Vietnam War; research psychological incapacitating agents and nerve agents. .

William McGlothlin Class of 1965
Army, 20+ Years Served from March 1966 to April 11, 1986. He;d rank of First Sergeant, serving thirteen years overseas. Was in Operations/Intelligence. Met lots of new people; some around the tri state area. Now living in El Paso, Texas, after having retired as a Police Officer for nineteen years. Will be heading back to Ohio very soon.
