Class of 1992
Chances of seeing my classmates from 1992 are none. Here’s my story.
September 11,2001,0710am I was onboard USS George Washington, sailing off the coast of Virginia-North Carolina for operational testing after the ship. That morning I got out my rack after resting from my midnight watch.
As I got up, I saw on TV two airliners hitting the towers in NYC. I asked my supervisor if was a movie he was watching. He told me no, terrorist hijacked two airplanes attacking NYC.
That day my watch changed to a counter terrorist watch. Several F-14s armed with missiles flown onboard board.
As I was sitting front of my radar, I’m looking for airliners. They were used as projectiles to attack america. As I was laying in my rack, remembering boot camp about times like this can occur. I had just became a war veteran, like my father who was in the Vietnam War.
To this day I’ve become more vigilant, but intelligent and closer to Christ.
