Henry A. Lathrop was a distinguished alumnus of Marshfield High School in Wisconsin. Born in Bedford, Ohio on September 24, 1848, Lathrop showed promise from a young age. After completing his high school education in Marshfield, he went on to study at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. His thirst for knowledge didn't stop there. He received his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College, in Chicago, Illinois, marking his entry into the field of medicine.

Following his graduation, Lathrop moved to Marshfield, Wisconsin, and started a new chapter of his life as a practicing physician in 1881. His career wasn't limited to medicine, however. He later entered the political arena and served in the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1887, representing the Republican Party.

Unfortunately, Lathrop's life was cut short when he suffered a stroke and died in Marshfield, Wisconsin on April 23, 1911. His work as a physician and a politician left a significant mark, and he is remembered as an important figure in Wisconsin's history.
