The September after graduation I went to Boot Camp in San Diego, CA Was trained as a Submarine Sonar Technician, then was stationed aboard the USS Gato (SSN-615) out of New London, CT. We went back and forth from San Diego for systems training and Charleston, SC to the USS Grayling (SSN-646).
Served as a systems maintenance instructor in San Diego, CA.
Was stationed aboard the USS Orion (AS-18) Submarine Tender in La Maddalena, Sardinia, Italy for two years.
Back to Charleston, SC as the Leading Chief Petty Officer aboard the USS Batfish (SSN-681).
My final duty station was as the Squadron Sonarman with Submarine Squadron Four in Charleston, SC. I retired in Sept. 1994 after 21 years.

Basic was at Ft. Lewis, Washington July 4 1971 I was at Ft. Lee, Va. for Supply school for 2 Different class. Left there as a PFC going to Republic of Korea 1st 71=72, 2nd 75-76,3rd84. Germany79-81, 3 more times to Ft. LEE for various supply schooling plus NCOES for 12 weeks, Edgewood Arsenal to change from Supply to Chemical Field. I was stationed at FT. Lewis, Wa. 1st time 72-75, 2nd 76-79. Ft.Hoo Tx. 81-84 Where I promoted to the
rank of E-7 84 I went to Korea for the final time I was Medavaced in July and as I put it put out to pasture aka medical
Retired at 13 years 9 months 13 days.
