James B. Ferguson
Class of 1991
National Guard, 15 Years
Sargent James Branson Ferguson served 3 complete years in the US Army stationed a various military bases in the US and in Africa. He is currently a member of the 216th Military Ploice Unit of the Arkansas Army National Guard in West Memphis, Arkansas. Sargent Ferguson completed a tour of duty on Home Land Securty based at Fort Lenordwood , Missouri as an MP and has just completed a tour of duty in Iraq as a military convoy commander. Sgt. Ferguson was honored with a bronze star write up in his 201 file for his duty in Iraq. Sgt Ferguson is currently waiting on orders for a tour of duty at Camp Shelby, Mississippi to train the troops for combat duty. Sgt. Ferguson is currently employed with the US VA Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee as an electrician. He and his wife Jodi currently lives in West Memphis, Arkansas and have four children.

Navy, 20+ Years
Entered the Navy in June 1961 and served in many commands and ships including USS Manatee AO-58, USS Independence CVA 62, USS Assurance MSO-521, USS Bigelow DD-942 and USS Montgomery FF-1082. I also was assigned to 4 years duty in Naples, Italy, 1 year in Subic Bay, PI, and 4 years in Key West, FL.
Retired in 1982 as a Chief Petty Officer. My thanks to my High School teachers, especially, Ms Mildred Horton, Mrs. A.O. Shaw, Mrs L.P. Mann, Coach Crews, and Mr. Herbert Carter who steered me to the US Navy as a career..
