Philip H. Bowers
Class of 1940
Actually, he graduated in 1938! "Big Band" Phil, as he is known, recently was flown out from his current home in La Grange Park, Illinois, to California. He had written a song for the Veteran's Association, which featured him singing, and playing his trombone.
He was chosen as a finalist in the event, and appeared in California, and was proudly introduced to the audience by none other than: Bo Derek!

His father, Charles Bowers, ran the general store in Marion for many years. BOWERS is still on a brick on the store that he owned, on Main Street! Check it out!
