Final plans are being made for this year’s MHS 70’s Decade Reunion. This is a multi-class reunion for everyone who attended MHS at any time during the 1970’s. If you haven’t been to one of our previous reunions, you’ll find this reunion isn’t like other reunions you may have attended. There is no need for new, fancy clothes; the food is simple, there are few decorations and there is no cost to attend. Just a lot of reuniting with old classmates and friends in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.
This year’s reunion will be held at Blue Springs Recreation Area. If you haven’t been to Blue Springs in awhile, you are in for a treat! Along with the views of the beautiful springs and Mill Pond, there are shaded pavilions and modern restrooms facilities. There are even showers and changing rooms for anyone who may be brave enough to go swimming!
This year the reunion will be held on Saturday, October 19 from 11:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and lunch will start being served at 12 noon. We realize that it’s football season. Three out of the four closest college teams have away games. By starting and ending earlier this year, it will allow you to watch any of those games played at night, visit with family members if you’re from out of town or have private get togethers with just your classmates or other groups.
This is also MHS Homecoming weekend so you may also be interested in attending the Homecoming Parade on Friday afternoon and the football game Friday.
