About	Donald George Cunitz, 75, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at his Mansfield, Ohio home. He was born in Marion, March 19, 1949. He was one of three children born to George and Audra Cunitz. Don lived in Ohio all his life. He was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and Michigan University where he studied Aeronautical Engineering for NASA. Don worked at Thermodisc for 41 ½ years as a Mechanical Engineer. He received several patents and was awarded by Thermodisc. Don was an avid patriot, serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era earning the rank of Lieutenant. He loved challenges. Don was a great father and grandfather. He was married 47 years to the love of his life, Chris, who praises God for giving her the chance to know another person’s soul and what love is all about. Don is survived by his wife, Chris Cunitz; brothers, Ron (Wendy) Cunitz and John (Rose) Cunitz; children, Paul (Cindy) Tschantz and Anon (Tim) Tschantz; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Tyler, Nicholas, Brandi, Brianna, Austin, and Gabi; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Christopher Cunitz.
Events	Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at 98 S. Diamond Street. A Funeral Service will follow immediately after. Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield is honored to serve the Cunitz family.
