About Me | Solid as a rock and I am a good guy appreciated by good people. My family appreciates my strength and dedication to them and I am blessed to be who I am. I was born in New Orleans, raised in Chalmette, and moved to the Tangi Region after my divorce and never stopped trying to be a father, son, brother and friend. I am currently working hard, taking care of life issues and waiting for retirement when I can relax, listen to my tunes and ride the mower when I want. I still lone to be able to share time with my children, to hear their laughs and offer them advice...not that there is any interest in it anyway. I miss my father, mother, two sisters, and brother, all passing away leaving my oldest sister and myself. My father and mother were an inspiration, as they has suffered a great deal and I had the privilege of caring for the both of them, as I fed, cleaned and medicated them. I picked them up when they fell, nursed their wounds and allowed them to vent on me. I learned a lot, not took a lot, where as others have done the opposite for themselves. I took care of them as a loyal child, not taking from them or showing my presence once a month and taking credit for nothing that I did. I was in the trenches and it made me a better person for it. For all of my former students who share positive thoughts about me, thanks. I have never known the fun we had because it was always spoken about in my past as a negative, but it is all the good times, the Deublerism, the jokes, the off-key humor and singing along with all the poking, nick-names and "my way" that made me have the time of my life. Teaching has been a trip, a really cool road to travel and you being part of it made the road less (in most cases) bumpy. Thanks for being there for the ride. For my friends.....you are the greatest person a guy could have to make him look good. You helped me there, but remember, my great looks helped you too...LOL No, seriously, thanks. I am so glad you supported me and continue to be my friend, especially Jack. Through the years, both professionally, emotionally and spiritually, Heidi and Donnie have been there. During the past six or so years, I have encountered a different breed of professional co-worker, as I did not know the families of these individual before becoming a part of their staff, but they took me as one of theirs. They were paras, teachers and administrators. These people cared. There are caring people out there and we need to keep that feeling alive. To my relatives that know me personally: I promise to be me forever. And if any of you are brave enough to encounter the horrible sounds that I sometimes hear.....to get to your destination. On October 25, 2014, my life changed and three darling children who I assisted with fostering became a more permanent part of my life and I have welcomed them with open arms. They are not replacements, but merely additions to my life's journey. The impact I have made on these children is unmeasurable and I am grateful to God that I have the opportunity to provide for them not only a safe haven, but a sound life and a father figure. And to everyone, please remember this: da Dube Rocks.... Oh, and you would really be surprised how aware I am of what goes on and enjoy seeing it happen. I won't say, "I knew that was going to happen," or something stupid like, "Oh, I could have gotten ------------ for you," or worse yet, "Dat's not what happened....(read more) |
