Francis H. Beaudoin
Class of 1997
Navy, 19 Years
Chief Beaudoin is a native of Manchester, New Hampshire. He joined the Navy on September 8, 1998, the Son of a retired Chief Culinary Specialist and homemaker. Upon completion of basic training at Great Lakes, IL, and Air Traffic Control School Naval Air Technical Training Center Pensacola, FL, he received orders to the USS NASSAU (LHA-4) assigned to Helicopter Direction Center (HDC).
During his first tour, he attained full qualification as HDC Supervisor and completed both, Enlisted Aviation and Surface Warfare Specialist qualifications, resulting in his selection as Sailor of the Quarter!
In April 2002, as a newly frocked Second Class Petty Officer, he reported for duty at Naval Air Station, Brunswick, ME, where he attained F.A.A. Control Tower Operator Certification, qualified as Special Category Watch Supervisor and advanced to First Class Petty Officer.
In May 2007, Chief Beaudoin reported to beautiful Naval Air Station, Sigonella, Sicily. His primary duties included Control Tower Branch Chief, Career Counselor and Equal Opportunity Manager. His dedication and commitment to service was recognized with his selection as NAS Sigonella Sailor of the Year FY-2008! Furthermore, Chief Beaudoin attended Navy Counselor School in October 2008 as honor graduate. In 2009, he was selected as Career Counselor of the Year for all Naval Shore Installations.
Following his overseas tour, he was assigned to Naval Air Technical Training Center, Pensacola, FL in June 2010 serving as an Instructor. After achieving his Master Training Specialist Certification in April 2011, he advanced to Chief Petty Officer. He filled the Basic Air Traffic Control Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO) billet resulting in his selection as 2013 Senior Instructor of the Year!
In July 2014, Chief Beaudoin reported for duty onboard Naval Air Station Whiting Field, FL serving in the capacity of LCPO. He fully qualified as a Facility Watch Supervisor in February 2015.
In February 2016, Chief Beaudoin accepted a one year assignment to Djibouti, Africa to fulfill a limited duty officer billet.
Chief Beaudoin's awards include 5 Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, 2 Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, two Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, various unit awards, and service medals.
Chief Beaudoin is married to Janelle Button of Billerica, MA. Together, they are the proud parents of three children
