Herbert Kepnes Needham, Massachusetts 1946 - 2017 KEPNES, Herbert Passed away the evening of December 12, 2017 with his daughters by his side. Herbie was born on January 6, 1946 in Melrose, MA. After graduating from Malden High School, he served in the MA National Guard. He became a successful executive in the cosmetic industry and settled in Peabody, MA where he proudly raised his three children, Stacey, Alyson and Darren, with his wife Lois (Weiner). Most recently, Herb lived in Brookline, MA. Herbie loved to travel, watch old movies, and spend time with his friends and family. But nothing gave Herbie more pride than celebrating the accomplishments of his grandchildren, Carlisle, Zoe, Peyton and Lexi. He had a zest for life and a big heart. He will be missed by his family and lifelong friends. Services will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at 1:30 PM at Temple Beth Shalom, 670 Highland Ave., Needham, MA. Memorial observance will take place following the interment at 300 2nd Avenue, Needham, MA until 7:30 PM and on Saturday, 5-9 PM and on Sunday, 3-7 PM. Donations in Herbie's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Published in The Boston Globe on Dec. 15, 2017
