About | Kevin Walter Ford, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on Saturday, July 1st, at the Tufts Medical Center, Boston, MA. Kevin was born in Malden in 1946, one of 7 children to Walter K. & Mary Rose (Cure) Ford. He was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School with the Class of 1964. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was discharged honorably in 1968, and on April 27th of that year, he married Gloria J. (Shelley) Ford, of Malden, who would be the love of his life. They resided in Malden, as well as Medford, MA, sharing 49 years of marriage together. His greatest joy was being a father to his three children, and later "Grampy" to his eight lucky grandchildren. After his service time, Kevin gained employment with the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier. He also served many years as a dedicated Shop Steward. His passion for helping fellow employees led to a position on the USPS Labor Dispute Resolution team during his final 10 years of employment. Outside of work he enjoyed playing golf with friends, particularly his Tuesday night golf league at Mt. Hood. He was an avid at home chef who loved nothing more than creating a meal for friends and family. His favorite time of the year was his annual Wells Beach, Maine vacation week with his family where many beautiful memories were made and remembered by all. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Ford, his children, Andrea M. DiCicco of Billerica, Kevin M. Ford and wife Tanya of Derry, NH and Melissa Riccioli and husband Kevin of Medford. Brother of Karen Ford of Malden, Kristine Campbell and husband David of CO, Michelle Dunajski and husband Paul of Marblehead, Charles Ford and wife Carol of Medford, Kathryn Schields and husband Steven of CA and Lisa Tonello and husband Mark of Medford. Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 8AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church, 770 Salem St., Malden 9AM. Interment to follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday July 7, 2017 from 4-8PM.
