About	DAVID ALAN HUGHES, age 56, passed away on August 9, 2011 at his home in Clearwater, Florida. The cause of his death was heart failure. He was born to Nancy Hale Hughes and Alan Hughes on February 8, 1955 in Tucson, Arizona. David grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida and graduated from Mainland High School in 1973. He graduated from Stetson University in Deland, Florida in 1977. Mr. Hughes was engaged in many youth activities at First Baptist Church Daytona Beach and served as a summer missionary with the Southern Baptist Convention for two years. He worked in various positions in the mental health field including ACT Corporation as a children's counselor and children's advocate until an injury damaged his back and brought his career to an end. David Hughes is survived by his mother, Nancy Hughes of Port Orange, FL; his sister, Dana Hughes of Clearwater, FL; and his aunt and uncle, Carol and Rodman Underwood of Port Orange, FL. He was predeceased by his father, Alan Hughes. Memorial donations can be made to mission programs of First Baptist Church Daytona Beach, 118 N. Palmetto Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32114.
