About Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Ford, 55, Daytona Bch, who passed on Thurs., Aug. 30, 2012 in Daytona Bch, will be 2 PM Sat., Sept. 8, 2012, at Daytona Deliverance Church of God, with Rev. William Lee, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5-8:30 PM, Fri. (today), Sept. 7, 2012 at RJ Gainous Funeral Home, Inc and on Sat. from 12:30 PM to service time at the church. Mrs. Ford was born March 31, 1957 in Statesboro, GA to the late Frazier and Corine Lundy. The family moved to Daytona Bch during her early childhood. She attended Bonner Elementary School and graduated from Mainland Senior High School in 1975. She also graduated from Daytona State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services. She was a faithful employee of Ormond Bch Memorial Hospital for 25 years as an Environmental Services Specialist, from which she retired. She later worked for Daytona State College as an enrollment specialist for 12 years. Lucille received Christ into her life at an early age as a member of Gray's Temple Church of God In Christ which she attended for many years. She later joined Daytona Deliverance Church of God where she served faithfully until her transition as a member of the choir and praise team. Lucille is an original member of "The Fantastic Angelettes" of Daytona Bch. She sang with her sisters Annette and Ada and other members of the group Cynthia and Brenda. "Singing was her passion." Lucille leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 27 years, John T. Ford; 4 children Ebony Bartee (William), Ormond Bch; Isaac Ford, Carla Ford ( Will), Yachi Ford; 11 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, all of Daytona Bch; brothers: Johnny Lundy, Tran Lundy, Daytona Bch; sisters: Min. Ilean May (George), Dublin, Ga., Barbara Jean Coleman (Lewis), Daytona Bch; Annette Sylvester (Walter), Jacksonville, FL; god-sister and best friend Ada James (John), Daytona Bch; brothers-in-law: James Ford, Jr. (Lonnie Jean), Cocoa Bch, FL; Herbert Ford, Detroit, MI; Wayne Ford (Lois) Ormond Bch, sisters-in-law: Anna Laura Beckton (K.D.), Ormond Bch, Janice Davis, Daytona Bch, one god-sister Betty Raines, St Petersburg, FL,; a godson, Johnny James, Jr., Daytona Bch, a god-brother, Thad Smith, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
