About William "Billy" B. Davis III, tragically passed away on Friday, April 6th. He was born at Halifax Hospital on October 6th, 1973. He graduated from Mainland Senior High School in 1992 where he received many awards for his singing. Billy attended Junior College on a music scholarship for a short time. He then began his career in the grocery business. His passions included collecting music, movie DVD's, traveling, and video games. He was full of life and someone once said that Billy never knew a stranger, he was kind to everyone he met. Billy was a loving and gentle man and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, especially those who loved him. Billy was a member of the United Brethren Church in Christ, and he worked as the Deli Clerk at the Publix in Holly Hill. Billy is survived by his loving parents, Bill and Diane Davis of Holly Hill. Additional survivors include his paternal grandmother, Ethel Davis of Ormond Beach; his maternal grandparents, Jack and Louise Gingery of Holly Hill; his aunt, Shirley Davis of Ormond Beach; his uncle Glenn Davis and his aunt Alice Davis of Montana; his aunt Sherry Gingery of Ormond Beach; his cousins, Chris, Jennifer, Jacob, Chasity, April, Bo, Cody, and Heather; and his extended family. Billy was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, H.B. and Ruth E. Cartwright; his grandfather, William B. Davis Sr.; and his uncle, Robert Gingery. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 13th in the United Brethren Church in Christ, 560 Flomich St., Daytona Beach, FL 32117. Interment will follow the service at Volusia Memorial Park, 550 N. Nova Rd., Ormond Beach, FL 32174. Condolences may be shared with the family online at www.volusiamemorialfunerals.com.
