About Harley "Bucky" David Walters of Edgewater passed away on May 18, 2011. Those who knew and loved Bucky will greatly miss him. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Baggett & Summers Funeral Home; 736 South Beach Street, Daytona Beach, FL 32114 (386)236-1100 at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Spivey, officiating. Bucky was born in Ormond Beach, Florida on June 3, 1930 to the late Harley and Callie Walters. Bucky graduated with the Class of 1951 from Mainland High School in Daytona Beach. He became a life-long resident of Volusia County. He loved Stock Car Racing, as well as fishing and hunting with his grandson, Kevin. In his professional career, Bucky was a Master Plumber and Pipe Fitter and a member of the Local Union #295 of Daytona Beach for over 50 years. Mr. Walters was a family man who had very strong values, both for his family and country. He served his country during the Korean Conflict years and was a Proud American. While serving in the Army, Harley earned two Bronze Stars. Bucky is preceded in death by his parents and one son Tom. Surviving is his daughter, Nancy Kennedy; four grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. All of his family and many friends who loved Bucky and will deeply miss him.
