About	On Sunday, December 5, 2010, Sharon Marie Rose Yates passed away at home surrounded by her loving family after a difficult battle with cancer. She was born on August 20, 1945, in Daytona Beach and lived there her whole life. She graduated from Mainland High School in 1963. Right after high school she became a bookkeeper for Alexander Lumber Company, then Alexander Home Improvement, and later Beck & Becks Attorney at Law. Sharon leaves behind her husband James "Jim" Yates, her mother, Betty Klock Rose, sister and caregiver, Candace Newton, sister, Linda Jones, and brother, Billy Rose. She was also very proud of her four nephews: Michael, Matthews, David, and Mark. Sharon was proud to be a Buccaneer and looked forward to working on another class reunion. She was a caregiver herself for her mother, Betty and a long-time volunteer at the City Island Library in Daytona Beach in the Genealogy Section. She was a long-time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and also the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was very thankful for the love and support of her many friends. She will be greatly missed by them all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Halifax Humane Society, one of her favorite charities.
