About	Kathleen Montpelier, 68, of New Smyrna Beach, died Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Southeast Volusia Hospice Care Center, Edgewater. Kathleen was born in Ogdensburg, NY and moved to the area in 1954 from her birthplace. She was a History and Social Studies teacher at Silver Sands Middle School, Port Orange and Mainland High School, Daytona Beach before her retirement. She received her bachelor's degree in education from Florida State University and her master's degree in education from University of Central Florida. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach and the Council of Catholic Women at Sacred Heart and was past president of the Young Democratic Club, Daytona Beach. She is survived by her brother, Joseph H. Montpelier. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Agatha Montpelier. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Cremation will be by Dudley Crematory, New Smyrna Beach and cremains burial will be in Ogdensburg, NY.
